It didn't take long at all before someone read Sharon's contributor notes and commented "my, someone's nose is growing". While it is understandable that people may be skeptical about Sharon's past, it's all true. It has and can be corroborated by persons with first hand knowledge and, in most cases, through various types of documents and transcripts.
There are two valid reasons why someone might be doubtful of Sharon's past.
First, anyone who knows her should have great difficulty believing that she could be implicated in criminal wrongdoing. She's too honest, too nice and too caring a person to be mixed up in such things.
Second, the inordinate number of brushes with criminals, serious crimes and the legal system must seem pretty incredible. The unfortunate truth is they did happen, way too frequently and seemingly against the law of averages. There wasn't anything pleasant about any of it.
Probably the hardest individual thing for anyone to believe must be how someone like Sharon was offered the opportunity to have someone killed. The answer is easy. The year was around 1970. Her father grew up in Somerville, MA and someone, no names were ever used, contacted -- on second thought, maybe it would be better if Sharon saved that story for an autobiography or a book based on her life.
It'll be a good one.
